Sony Buys Chloe Moretz-Ansel Elgort Drama ‘November Criminals’
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has acquired rights to English-speaking markets for Sacha Gervasi’s upcoming drama November Criminals starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Ansel Elgort.
Beth O’Neil (“Jack Goes Boating”) is producing alongside Erika Olde of Black Bicycle Entertainment and Lotus.
Black Bicycle Entertainment is also co-financing the film with Lotus, which is handling remaining international sales.
Steven Knight adapted the script from Sam Munson’s 2011 novel about two teenagers who venture into the underbelly of Washington, D.C., to investigate a friend’s murder while falling in love for the first time.
The film will also star Catherine Keener, with production scheduled to begin March 16.
CAA and WME Global brokered the deal with Bill Johnson for Lotus Entertainment and SPWA’s Michael Helfand, Joe Matukewicz and Jon Freedberg.
Elgort is represented by CAA and Brookside Artist Management and lawyer Rick Yorn.
